Overview

children's corner preschool, Reggio Emilia approachWelcome to The Children’s Corner Preschool. We have been offering a superior early childhood program since 1987. We are proud of our experience and training in child development.

Our director Diane Barsotti has been following the Reggio Emilia approach for many years by studying its methods and viewing Reggio inspired schools in the Boston area as well as in other parts of the United States.

Our preschool is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. We hold a license for children ages two years and nine months to seven years of age and a limited school age license for children through nine years of age. Typically school aged children are enrolled in our after-school and summer programs.

A copy of the Rules and Regulations for the Licensure of Group Day Cares is available to families upon request. You may also access the regulations through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care website.

The Children’s Corner Preschool is open Monday through Friday, from September through mid-June. Morning, afternoon, and full day sessions are offered. Early drop-off and extended hours are scheduling options. A summer program is available for six weeks during July and August.

We are closed for holidays and we follow the Winthrop Public Schools calendar in regard to school vacations and weather-related closings. The school reserves the right to close for building-related emergencies (power outages, etc.). Please see our specific school year calendar.

If families speak a language other than English then we will make every effort to contact an interpreter to establish and maintain ongoing communication between our school and home.
